What to expect at the Breakfast

Faith, Food and Fellowship

The night before Jesus went to the Cross, He shared a meal with His disciples. After He rose from the grave, He made them breakfast on at least one occasion (John 21:12.) The Book of Acts records that the Early Church devoted themselves "to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” There’s no absolute command in the Bible to host a city-wide Prayer Breakfast, but it certainly seems to follow that the Christian leaders of a city should meet together periodically to pray and fellowship together.

That’s what the TPB aims to accomplish. While we are together, we take the opportunity to bless and thank those who serve us in the community. Prayers are offered for those working in the marketplace, in schools, in government, and those who serve the community as first responders.

Keynote Speaker

Paul Burns

Paul is a lover and follower of Jesus and is the Chief Executive Officer for Skip (formerly known as Skip The Dishes). Paul has held various leadership roles in the technology, media and entertainment space, most recently as the Managing Director of Twitter in Canada. Paul sits on a number of boards and lives in Toronto with his wife (Olivia) and two sons (Anderson and Wesley).

The Worship Project

Martine Kelsey is an accomplished Canadian singer-songwriter, recording artist, and worship leader, with a heart for unity and has been serving the local church in Canada for over two decades. Her newest album, “Sweet Hallelujah,” showcases a series of original songs that weave narratives of redemption, highlighted by lyrics that convey God’s love and inspiring melodies. Martine most recently had the honour and privilege of joining 15-time Grammy Award Artist CeCe Winans on her Canadian tour.

The Toronto Prayer Breakfast is produced by an all-volunteer team of local Christians from various congregations, para-church ministries and businesses, and the event is run on a cost-recovery basis. Any surplus funds are forwarded to the next Breakfast event.
